Responsibilities: Continued development and support of the GOV.UK Pay web payments platform, a high performance, high availability (4 9s) containerised service mesh built on Node 18/Java 17 (Express, Dropwizard, Docker) deployed to AWS ECS handling ~1500 requests per second. PostgreSQL 16 RDS persistence layer.

AWS infrastructure as code via Terraform. OTel/Prometheus/Grafana monitoring stack. CICD via GitHub Actions / Concourse. Feature leading complex requirements. Primary out of hours on call engineering support. Agile Kanban team. Line management and mentorship of junior and mid-level software developers.

Responsibilities: Design and development of greenfield Java micro services supporting high traffic APIs (Spring Boot/Cloud, Webflux). Front end development of single page React applications conforming to the GDS service standard (ES6, SCSS, React16).

Automated versioning, deployment, management and monitoring of containerised software systems (Docker, Helm) to managed Kubernetes environments. PostgreSQL persistence layer. CICD via Drone. Sysdig/ELK monitoring stack. Agile scrum team. Team leadership, line management responsibility for junior engineering colleagues.

Responsibilities: Design and development of scalable API services (Java, Spring) within an Agile team. Design and development of distributed large scale graph computing (Accumulo, Gaffer, Neo4j).

Deployment, management and monitoring to OpenShift and EKS. Javascript React front end development (+ ancillary technologies: SCSS, Webpack etc.). Encouragement of Agile working practices as a Certified Scrum Master.

Responsibilities: Software development (Oasys Structural and Geotechnical products) (C++, Node), migrating software systems to cloud infrastructure (AWS), network infrastructure and information security, application support and international project management.

Responsibilities: Systems and IT operations management (Linux/macOS), Ruby (Rails) software development, testing and deployment, automation and database administration.
